Limelight
Coming to Kickstarter

Every board,
one light.

Limelight hangs over your table and projects a board game that's alive. You move real pieces. The light plays back.

Go on. Tap a piece.

Touch any piece and every move it could make lights up. The good ones, the risky ones, the ones about to get it captured. The board thinks out loud, so you start to see what it sees.

legal move capture under threat

Tap a glowing piece to begin.

We have moved the same wooden pieces for a thousand years.

And we love it. The weight, the click, the ritual. But the board never says a word. It cannot show you a move, cannot celebrate a win, cannot surprise you. Screens can do all that, and they are flat, and lonely, and trapped behind glass. Nobody gave you both. So we did.

Hang it. Drop your pieces. Watch.

01

Hang the light

Arch it over the table, strap it to a shelf, or stick it to anything metal. It finds your board on its own.

02

Play for real

Real pieces, real weight, in your hands. A camera quietly reads where everything sits.

03

Watch it react

Moves glow. Captures dissolve into light. The snake actually slithers you down the ladder.

Now playing Chess

One light. Every board.

A normal smart board plays one game forever. Limelight plays all of them. Flip the mat and it is chess, then checkers, then ludo. Out of games? Draw your own on paper, snap a photo, and watch it come alive under the light.

Custom boards play best with the lights low.

A light worth leaving on the table.

The light

Hangs anywhere

Arch it, strap it, or magnet it to metal. One head, three ways to float it over your table, and it lines itself up every time you move it.

The mat

Two sides

One side printed for your hero game, bright enough for daylight. Flip it for the whole library.

The brain

It just sees

A camera reads the board and aligns the light on its own. No fiddling, no setup screen.

The pieces

Carved to sit out

Every game gets its own set of artisanal pieces, weighted and finished as objects worth displaying. Collect the ones you love.

Or yours

Bring your own

Already have a set you love? Limelight reads the pieces you own, so your grandfather's chessmen get to come alive too.

Game night, lit.

The table everyone crowds around. The chess board your kid finally wants to learn on. The light you flick on when the night gets good.

First light

Be there when the light goes on.

Which board should we light up first?

You are on the list.
